1. Agreement

Chowy is operated by SC Delirium Development S.R.L. (“Delirium”, “we”, “us”), CUI RO40159995, Brașov, Romania. By creating a Chowy account or using the app you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

2. Your account

You must be at least 16 years old to use Chowy. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity on your account. Notify us immediately at support@chowy.app if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Households

When you invite someone to a household, they gain access to everything in that household: shopping lists, pantry, private recipes, and meal polls. Only invite people you trust with that data. Household admins can remove members; removal revokes access going forward but doesn't retroactively remove content the former member already copied.

4. Your content

You own the recipes, photos, shopping lists and other content you upload. By making a recipe “public” you grant other Chowy users a worldwide, royalty-free license to view, favourite, and copy it within the app. You also grant Delirium a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, translate, generate cover images for, moderate, and display that public content as needed to operate and promote the service. You represent that you have the right to share any content you upload.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Upload content you don't own or have rights to.
• Post harmful, illegal, hateful, or sexually explicit content.
• Harass other users.
• Attempt to break, reverse-engineer, or overload Chowy's infrastructure.
• Use Chowy to send spam, phishing, or unsolicited commercial messages.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules.

6. User content and conduct

Chowy lets you publish recipes to a public community feed. There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You must not publish content that is sexual, violent, hateful, harassing, dangerous, or that infringes others’ intellectual property.

You can report any recipe and block any author from inside the app. We review reported content and remove violations — and may remove the responsible user — within 24 hours. Questions: support@chowy.app.

7. Reporting

You can report public recipes or users from inside the app, or email support@chowy.app. We investigate in good faith and may remove content or take other action at our discretion.

8. Subscriptions & payments

Some features require a paid subscription (“Chowy Pro”). The price, billing period, and any free trial are shown in the app before you confirm. Subscriptions are billed via the Apple App Store or Google Play and auto-renew for the same period and price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date, through the store that issued the subscription. Manage or cancel anytime in your store account. Refunds follow Apple's / Google's policies — we can't refund charges on their behalf. On Apple, use is also governed by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

9. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose a risk to other users.

10. Disclaimer

Chowy is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of public recipes, ingredient lists, or allergen information. Always verify ingredient safety yourself, especially for allergies or dietary restrictions.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chowy and Delirium are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid Chowy in the 12 months before the claim, or €50, whichever is greater. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable mandatory law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for your statutory rights as a consumer.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms; where the law requires your consent, we will ask for it.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence apply.
